Six Month Anniversary

On Tuesday, Eric and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary.  It was a really great night!

We started off the evening getting dressed all fancy.  Eric has always wanted me to curl my hair.  I kept telling him that my hair is heavy and it is just going to fall out so it is not even worth it, but for our six months I decided to curl it for him.  So I started to curl my hair and it was looking pretty good but by the time Eric got to  my house to pick me up (an hour after I started to curl my hair) it had already started to fall out...a lot!  He still loved it though and wants me to do it more often.  Unfortunately I cannot get up an hour earlier every morning just to do it so I will just save it for special occasions.

Anyways, we went to a restaurant called Sanford's.  It is a really fancy restaurant in downtown Milwaukee.  We got there a little early so we had to wait, but we were welcomed very kindly and hospitably. We were seated finally and were given menus.  Let me tell you, I think this place was a little fancy for me and Eric, but we definitely enjoyed the experience.  I ordered beef tenderloin with puréed Yukon potatoes and some greens.  Eric had elk.  Yes elk!  I could not believe he was going to eat elk, but I admired how adventurous he was.

Our meals began with a really small dish of mustard seeds and tuna which was prepared by the chef to clear our palates.  We then got a warm role which was so yummy.  During this time our waiter was always present, removing the dishes we no longer needed and making sure out table was clean.  We also had bread sticks on the table which me and Eric didn't realize we're edible at first.  Oops! But we ate them after seeing another table eat them...they were pretty good.  We received our main course which was so scrumptious.  Eric enjoyed the elk.  I tried a piece and it really was not bad.  After we finished our meal, our waiter cleared the table again.  Our place was cleared of any crumbs which was a really interesting thing to see.  They used what looks like a metal scapula I used in chemistry classes.  It was kind of entertaining really.  We were then offered an after dinner beverage. Around this time the lights in the restaurant began to flicker and all of a sudden the power went out.  There were about five other parties in the restaurant.  These groups were either just beginning their experience at Sanford's or just finishing their appetizers.  Unfortunately for them, they were not able to eat their main course at Sanford's. WE Energies informed the restaurant that the electricity would not be on for 1.5 hours.  There was no air in the restaurant, so it began to get really hot, and the dinners could not be finished.  Me and Eric were not able to get our desserts or order the cappuccinos we wanted after dinner.  However, we did get free Perseca and got a couple desserts from the chef himself!  He was very nice and everyone continuously apologized for the inconvenience. It was really not bad for us at all...we got to finish our meals minus the planned desert of German Chocolate Cake and Almond Ice Cream!  I was really looking forward to the Almond Ice Cream.

Next me and Eric went to sit in a park downtown which had a nice view of Lake Michigan. It was really beautiful and special.  It was so nice to just be together, hold each other, and just talk. Eric spotted this cute little bunny.
Can you see it?

We ended the night with some ice cream at coldstones.  We sat outside and ate the ice cream.  Eric and I had a wonderful night and I couldn't  be any happier. I also cannot wait to see what the next 6 months has in store for us!
